A wonderful place to celebrate our dear friend Elaine’s 50th birthday. Super well equipped accommodation in a (fandabedozie) location. very friendly and helpful owners. Thank you
Our third visit at the lodge. We keep coming back for more! We were lucky with the weather so the week was spent outdoors. We just love the decking and large lawn (games provided). Toby (5 years old now) just LOVES it here! When we left tonight he asked when we are coming back. A big thank you to Rosie and Dick for, yet again, a warm welcome and great hospitality!
Loved our stay in the Lodge which was comfortable and well equipped. Left totally relaxed. Weather has been wonderful so spent a lot of time outside reading and enjoying the sun, peace and quiet and of course the BBQ. Tony had three days boat fishing on Rutland Water. Great walks around Rutland, Red kites and Ospreys a joy. Thank you both.
A fantastic location. The Barn was spacious and well equipped for all our needs. The grounds were immaculate and great for relaxing in the sunshine. Such a quiet beautiful spot. Thank you for a fantastic weekend
Lovely property in a great location with a warm welcome from Dick and Rosie. Plenty to do and see in the area. Nice walks to Fort Henry. Also walked the Hambleton peninsular loop and hired bikes for a nice ride around Rutland Water. Burghley house is worth a visit and the Garden of Surprises is fun for the kids (take a change of clothes or swimming stuff). Bugmania is also fun for the kids but not as big as we anticipated. Stamford is nice for a stroll with good food at the George. We also had a really great meal at the Wheatsheaf in Greetham.
Wonderful place, very easy to become one with the sofas, Rutland Water was lovely too, overall a quiet, pleasant stay.
We thought Cuckoo Barn was very good. Enjoyed all the garden amenities and also the decor! Good food at the Fox and Hounds. Excellent all round.
A very comfortable and relaxing week with wonderful weather. Rutland Water was good as always. Barnsdale disappointing. Meals at the Horse and Jockey couldn’t be better. Gates Garden Centre worth a visit.
We really enjoyed our stay at Cuckoo Barn. We saw Ospreys nearly every day this week, one even flew over over the barn with a fish going back to his nest at Rutland Water.
We ate at The White Horse which was overpriced for the portion size. The Horse and Jockey at Manton was better value and bigger portions so we would recommend that for pub grub.
We cylced from here and around Rutland whihc was great. We also cycled to Fort Henry along the bridleway which was great with children as no traffic. We love the horses and nature right on the doorstep.
Thank you for a lovely relaxing stay. Your lodge is really lovely % your recommendations on where to eat – The White Horse at Empingham & Fox and Hounds at Exton were excellent
